Happiness means different things to different people.
Happiness to some means success. To others it has to do with looks, height or simply being loved.
Happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being, often defined as “living a good life”. Happiness is being at peace with oneself, being at one with who we are.
Without doubt, both our health and our wealth can have a large impact on our overall sense of happiness.
We would all like to lead a happy, healthy and successful life. We may be living in the happiest country in the world or the happiest place on earth, but we are all responsible for our own individual happiness.
The International Day of Happiness
Since its inception in 2013, every year on 20th March, millions around the world have celebrated the International Day of Happiness. This world happiness day was initiated because the United Nations considered happiness to be a universal human right.
A self-help book published in 2009, called The Happiness Project, set out to discover how to create true happiness through science, philosophy and following case studies.

Many people today are still chasing happiness. So, what does it take to be happy… to be genuinely happy? Other self-help books have been written on the subject and some would encourage us to simply “choose happy” over unhappy. But is it simply a matter of thinking happy thoughts and saying happy words?
What does it take to make someone happy, to transform them into a happy person? Many women might say “He makes me happy”, but is it really the other person who makes you happy? Surely you bear some responsibility for your own happiness.
There are many Bible verses about happiness that can be studied to find out how to experience true happiness. The Bible, however, more often uses the word “joy”, meaning a happiness that comes from within, despite our external circumstances. Psalm 28:7, for example, reads; “The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy”.

Ten Principles of Success
What are the Principles for achieving Success in life?
Probably the most important principle in achieving real success is persistence.
But first you need to set personal goals.
Your personal goals can be achieved through persistence, positivity, and words of affirmation. We have all heard of the importance of setting smart goals, but more is needed than simply setting goals.
Along with persistence, we also need positivity backed up by daily positive affirmations. You can find positive affirmations by reading positive quotes each day.
These affirmations should not be words of false positivity, but they should include words for helping others. Helping others is one of the most important aspects of achieving success in life.

Boosting Your Self-Esteem
Many people suffer from a sense of low self-worth, meaning that they basically lack self-confidence.
If you were to define self-worth you might say that lacking in confidence is what causes you to not really value yourself. Low confidence or lack of self-confidence probably means that you have a self-esteem issue.
People often ask how you would define self-esteem? Self-esteem is another way of expressing your own evaluation of your self-worth.
